 Steps to Apply

1- Academic Programs

Finding the NYUS location that provides the academic program that allows you to reach your education and career goals is very important and is the first step in beginning your NYUS journey. To view the NYUS  locations that offer the program you are most interested in please view our Academic Program chart.

2- Admissions Requirements

Application requirements vary depending upon your previous education. Carefully review the required GPA and test score requirements to decide your application classification.

3- Application Process

When ready to apply students must first complete the online application, selecting the NYUS location they wish to study at, their education classification and their start term. After completing the online application for admission a non-refundable $30 application fee must accompany submission of the application for processing purposes. To be considered for admission you must have your high school and/or college transcripts sent to us for evaluation.

4- Schedule a campus visit
Campus visits are the most important aspect of the college decision making process. Visits give you the opportunity to discover what makes our unique University the right fit for you. MYUS welcomes you to come and see what makes our campus different, one that you will want to consider your home away from home. While visiting NYUS in NY, you will have the opportunity to take part in a student-guided tour of campus. While learning the NYUS history and traditions you will also tour various academic buildings and residence halls. Following your tour you will have the chance to meet with an Admissions Counselor to discuss admissions and scholarship opportunities, major and career options, housing possibilities and student life. 
5- Scholarship & Financial Aid
After your admissions application and necessary materials have been submitted you should review all scholarship opportunities at your NY location. Scholarship deadlines and applications vary depending upon location.The appropriate financial aid application (FAFSA) can be submitted once an application has been received by the University. 6- Housing Application

The deadline to apply for on-campus housing is March 1st for all students. All students under the age of 19 prior to the first day of registration are required to reside on campus unless living at your stated home address with your parents.

7- New Student Orientation

IMPACT is the orientation program at the Troy campus for all new students. Multiple two-day sessions are offered throughout the summer months of June & July. During IMPACT students will register for fall classes. Registration information is sent out to all accepted Troy campus students in early April.
