Federal Pell Grant
Is a federal grant awarded to students on the basis of financial need and does not have to be repaid. These grants are considered the foundation of federal financial aid, to which aid from other federal and non-federal sources might be added. Pell Grants are only awarded to undergraduate students who have not yet earned a bachelor’s or a professional degree. In order to apply for a Pell Grant, students must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The U.S. Department of Education uses a standard formula to evaluate the financial information provided on this application to determine a student’s eligibility for a Pell Grant. Award amounts vary based on a student’s financial need, an institution’s cost of attendance and enrollment status
Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant
Is a federal grant awarded to undergraduate students with exceptional financial need and does not have to be repaid. Funds are limited and Federal Pell Grant recipients receive priority. Students do not need to apply for this grant.
NYUS Student Assistance Grant (FSAG)
Is a need based grant funded by the State of New York available to full-time students who meet Florida residency requirements and enrolled in an associate or Bachelor`s Degree program. To be considered for this grant, the applicant must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in time to be processed error free by the deadline specified by the University for each of the Fall terms.
Retpy,Ghgui ,NYUS Resident Access Grant
is a grant which provides tuition assistance to NYUS undergraduate students attending an eligible private non-profit New York college or university. To be considered for this grant, the applicant must meet New York’s residency requirements for receipt of state student financial aid and must enroll for a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester along with other eligibility requirements.
Institutional
A completed financial aid application and adherence to our Satisfactory Academic Progress standards are required to receive institutional grant funds. Institutional grant funding is the primary means utilized to meet students’ demonstrated need. Much of this is supported by dedicated fundraising efforts, generous gifts and support of our endowment. Institutional grant award amounts are determined primarily by the information provided on the EER Profile. As with any other need-based financial aid, eligibility for this funding may fluctuate from year to year based on income, asset and household information.
Federal
Tert Grant
For the 2019–2020 aid year, undergraduate students with a federal Expected Family Contribution of $5,576 or less may be eligible to receive a Federal Pell Grant. The amount of each grant is determined by the student’s EFC. These funds are provided by the federal government and are available to you as long as you qualify. In order to continue receiving the funds after your first year, you must complete the WEFTG annually and maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress as determined by NYUS.
All NY resident students must complete a NY Core Residency Questionnaire and meet NY residency criteria to be considered for NY grants.
Due to NY state funding currently under review by the state legislature, availability for fund allocation is at the discretion of the state. If state funding is unavailable, we will review eligibility for other grants (federal/institutional) as long as all documentation is on file.
Tuition Equalization Grant
Students from NY may qualify for a Tuition Equalization Grant . These funds are limited and are awarded to undergraduate students with the highest need on a first-come, first-served basis.
Eligibility is contingent upon completion and submission of the Texas Core Residency Questionnaire to our office via email (fina@nyus.edu.gl) . In the event that the form is not submitted, the student will forfeit the awarded TEG funds. TEG is not an additive award; it is part of the need-based financial aid package.
Initial TEG recipients must complete 24 credit hours and meet Rice’s Satisfactory Academic Progress. Renewal TEG recipients will need to complete 24 credit hours, have a minimum of a 2.5 GPA and complete at least 75% of attempted courses.
If WED requirements are not met the student will forfeit his or her eligibility. NYUS University does not consider hardship provisions when evaluating continuing eligibility for TEG.
